'Healing The World' mural for
Customer: HEXAGON Ortho Location: Tuzla (Turkey) Project: Mural design for the meeting room at the headquarters of HEXAGON Ortho Period: February 2014 (1 month) Description: Outlines with markers and filling with acrylics and markers mural on a 6x2.5m wall (Curie) and 2x2m wall (tree) Comments: In the past I have been working on murals for services oriented companies being mainly hotels and restaurants. This changed completely after I had a nice conversation with Şehmuz where he invited me to visit the offices of Hexagon Ortho. Hexagon is a company that committed to the highest standards of manufacturing and delivering innovative and quality orthopedic solutions for healthcare providers and patients worldwide.
Just like a state of the art hospital, all the walls of the complex are crispy white. He mentioned me the idea of inspiring people, both employees and visitors, with colourful and meaningful murals. The starting point would be the meeting room where important discussions are held. For that impressive room I wanted to evoke the passion for excellence and research that allowed in medicine countless breakthroughs. As the star of the depiction would be their flagship product, Acurator, a multiple award winning development which helps correcting bone malformations. Marie Curie, renowned scientist, is holding the Acurator in order to righten the world. Green nature and vivid blue waters sorround the scene. On the opposite corner a tree grows from a cured ankle allowing to walk towards the future.
The powerful allegory motivates to set challenging though doable goals.
