When it comes to designing and decorating our homes we tend to think of the kitchen, bedrooms and just about everywhere else before we consider how the entrance will look. In fact the entrance is of great importance, as it’s the first place guests see when they enter our homes, and therefore where the first impression is made.
With this in mind we’ve put together a list of eight awesome ideas for adorning the entrance of the home, hopefully helping you to get inspired and design your own enchanting entrance. Let’s get started…
Use your imagination and employ a little creativity in designing your entrance. Rather than following a classic design create something impactful like the striking black and yellow corridor above.
You don’t need a lot to make a big impression. Although the floor, ceiling and intricately adorned mirror in the example above are impressive, the design is actually fairly minimalist. The only furnishings are the classic table and adjacent artwork, but their inclusion transforms the space from an elegant, but empty hallway to an attractive entrance.
Above, the interior designers have blended together a variety of neutral tones with an assortment of textures including woods and metals to create cohesive décor that stands out. As with the first example on our list, we can see how a little artwork and a small table can make a big difference.
Ahead of us a neat storage solution keeps the entrance from becoming cluttered and untidy, while our attention is drawn to the sizable space by the fabulous floor tiles.
Building on the idea of incorporating storage space, forging your entrance in a functional design emphasising storage can help to keep the rest of the apartment looking its best.
Classic, elegant features such as lovely light fixtures and crown moulding are always good options for an impressive entrance, especially when combined with a light colour palette and excellent lighting to increase the feeling of space.
Go for all out impact and make the entrance the most visually impressive area of the home with dramatic light fixtures, art, mood lighting and intricate furnishings.
Go for a dynamic, high contrast colour scheme by mixing black and white in your entrance’s décor for an impactful entrance guests won’t forget.
