When designing your interior, it's always a battle to choose between the comfortable refinement of the classical style and the graceful simplicity of modern pieces. No matter which kind of design scheme you've chosen for your home, we all prefer our interiors to be prime examples of organisation and style, and achieving that perfect balance is only an article away!

Our home today blends modern and minimal in the most remarkable way, while also adding bits and pieces of different design principles for an overall comprehensive and composed space. The flooring experts at Tarimas de Autor are the ones to thank for the incredible hardwood floors in each room, and it's because of this great work that we have these phenomenal images to study and get inspiration from.

The apartment takes up a total of 130 square metres and has some of the best distribution of space we've ever seen in a home, and each element has a specific purpose in terms of functionality and aesthetics.

But we think we've chalked it up enough… Let's dive in!

The arrangement

The seating options in the living room are a long blue sofa and a soft purple chair which are both centred around the rustic-looking raw wooden coffee table. The conversation area is diverse in texture and tone, which creates even more visual appeal.

The style

As we mentioned before, this home combines modern and minimalist design principles and fashions an open, uncomplicated, and inspiring interior. Immediately, we see that the only ornamentation in the entire space is on the bookshelf, and even there, accessories are arranged in a neat and tidy manner. Wood and white is the main styling theme, but splashed of colour are certainly not without their place. The bright walls and warm wooden floors set up a blank canvas for the furniture to take centre stage in the design.

Head-on

Looking at the sofa head-on, we see an interesting architectural element that doesn't often come up in these home tours. There is a support beam that's of a darker colour directly behind the couch, and what's curious about this is that it looks like a partition between rooms, but in reality the space is as open as any other open-floor planned home. The support beam adds an industrial element to the room, and due to the home's minimalist nature, these styles can be paired together for a unique blended look.

Shifting focus

Let's go back to the dining room now for a moment. Bright yellow and breathtaking green fill this space and contribute to natural and calming atmosphere. The table itself appears to be floating in thin air, but that's just due to the glass legs. Modern light fixtures provide ample mood lighting and a simple flower vase centrepiece is all the decoration we need.

In the kitchen

As we turn to the kitchen, we see sleek white marble for the kitchen counters that is distinctly modern and chic. The kitchen island itself is another element of the modern kitchen, as well as the open shelving.

Classy to say the least

On the other side of the island are stools so these residents can use the space as a breakfast bar. We can't help but get a feeling of elegance in the kitchen due to the modern fixings–three simple hanging lamps and ultra-modern kitchen equipment contribute to that.

Out of the ordinary

So far, this home has proven to be anything but ordinary in the way it was designed, and the master bedroom is the biggest contributor to that fact. Many master bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms, but we guarantee you haven't seen one like this before. The standing shower and sink unit are located in the rear–the shower behind an opaque pane of glass and the sink right before it. Even farther into the foreground and we see a solid stone bath tub sitting in the middle of the room. We love this innovative idea of being able to take a bubble bath and immediately jumping into a warm bed.
